Darren Skanson Essay -- essays research papers
Overview From a very early age Darren Skanson had a burning passion for music. His passion grew deeper when realized how much excitement a crowd has when watching a musical performer. In 1989, Darren graduated from Moorhead State University with a BA in music. Darrenââ¬â¢s career first began by being a lead guitarist in a heavy metal band. The band, Mata Hari, split up in 1993. Darren then joined Malcolm Watson, who was a classical violinist, at Watson and Company. Darren and Malcolm produced the third CD for Watson and Company. Shortly after the success of producing this CD the duo traveled nationwide performing. Within a year the sales had increased from $100,000 to $250,000. Malcolm wanted to move a little more slowly than Darren in expanding their business to greater heights. Since Darren was ready to move on, he left Watson and Company to form his own company. Darren had a vision to record, produce and sell his own music, as well as the music of other artists. Jennifer, a long time friend of Darrenââ¬â¢s was the booking agent for his tour. Jennifer did not share the same vision with Darren so they parted ways and moved on. Trying to perform, handle CEO duties and handling the promotional marketing aspect of his business was getting to be too much for Darren. Business was getting to be complicated. He decided to hire a guy named Andy Harling, who was a classical guitarist to help with the office duties of the company and to suggest/implement ways to make CCM function more efficiently. Darren turned down two performances offered by Jennifer since he was already booked. However, he did not want to lose the business and the chance to get his name out there. Darren sent Andy to perform at the two shows. Andy was very successful and gained the knowledge of how the performances operate. Darren became a little nervous when he realized that Andy could leave him and become his competition. Darren then signed Andy to a contract and launched Andyââ¬â¢s first CD. Over time, Andyââ¬â¢s responsibilities grew with his performances that Darren hired an assistant for him. Recording and productions costs were high for musicians to produce their records/CDââ¬â¢s. Digital then came into existence and cut the costs of production. Music is sorted by labels. Because of the low costs in digital recordings it was possible for sma... ...erent marketing segment and would need to establish their resources and overall marketing clientele. Buyers â⬠¢Ã à à à à Darrenââ¬â¢s buyers are mostly between the ages 40 and 60 years old. Suppliers â⬠¢Ã à à à à Distribution centers from which he buys his supplies for inventory. â⬠¢Ã à à à à One-stop centers Substitute Products â⬠¢Ã à à à à Acoustitherapy â⬠¢Ã à à à à Andrew Thomas Harling â⬠¢Ã à à à à Music for candles Recommendations â⬠¢Ã à à à à Darren should get rid of Jennifer and find someone who is more compatible in helping him reach his goal of expanding nationally. â⬠¢Ã à à à à Increase product lines. â⬠¢Ã à à à à Hire someone to operate his marketing, promotion, inventory and production costs and issues so that he can devote his time to tours and concerts. â⬠¢Ã à à à à Try signing a contract with an artist of the Independent Label level in order to help increase his branding label. â⬠¢Ã à à à à Hire an agent to sign on new artists rather than doing it himself.

English Crucible Coursework Essay
In the established society of a small, Puritan town in the late 17th century, a lie by a ministerââ¬â¢s niece sparks utter hysteria throughout the town of Salem. This quite minor fabrication causes a wildfire of deceit to burn throughout the town destroying homes, families and friendships. In the centre of this saga the marriage of John and Elizabeth Proctor has been diminished to a marriage of awkward silences and great mistrust by John Proctor adulterous relationship with Abigail Williams. As the town is in havoc, the Proctorââ¬â¢s marriage is also tested. The play portrays heir struggle to prevail I a world of treachery. In this essay of ââ¬ËThe Crucibleââ¬â¢, I am going to be examining the Proctorââ¬â¢s marriage in relevance to the theme of witchcraft and study why Miler put the marriage at the centre of the play.à When we first see the Proctorââ¬â¢s in Act Two, a conventional view of home life at that period time is portrayed the husband has been working hard on the land, while his wife cared for the children and tended to her familyââ¬â¢s needs, but this scene also shows many things. I t shows the need for gratitude from each over, as if they need to please one another vastly. This is depicted many times when John begins to eat. Early on in the scene as Proctor comments on his wifeââ¬â¢s food saying ââ¬ËIt is well seasonedââ¬â¢ which we are aware is false as previously in entering the house he sampled the food and added more seasoning to it, the way this sentence is implied suggests that he is just trying to keep the peace between them. She is content with his praise and eve thrives on his delight in her and feels if she carries on pleasing him he will not go elsewhere for this gratitude, as to his previous mistress Abigail This is not one-sided as John states to Elizabeth after consulting her if she would like a cow he says, ââ¬ËI mean to please youââ¬â¢ with her reply being, ââ¬ËJohn I knowââ¬â¢. This shows he is attempting to redeem his infidelity and prove to her al he wants is to make her happy and she is aware of his numerous efforts but cannot allow herself to forget the past months.à Elizabeth is still very apprehensive of John and questions him as soon as she is aware of his presence she begins to enquire into his delay home asking him, ââ¬Ëwhat keeps you so late?ââ¬â¢. Elizabeth shows great suspicion towards John; this is depicted through her eagerness to know what is keeping her husband. He justifies himself by declaring in his defence he was out farming. The premature view of the scene in Act Two reveals great suspicion in this marriage, as Elizabeth is fearful that he has been visiting Elizabeth. This parallels to the witchcraft trials of Salem and the scepticism of the inhabitants as to if someone may blindly accuse them next for minor things such as an argument in the past or over land restrictions. The weariness by the community is shown later in the Act when Reverend Hale is told of the arrest of Martha Corey and Rebecca Nurse to this he declares, ââ¬Ëâ⬠¦ Then nothing left to stop the whole green world from burningââ¬â¢. This statement refers to the suspicion in the town as when one lie has started it is difficult to stop it from causing more lies to arise, this declaration can also be interpreted as the ââ¬Ëwhole green worldââ¬â¢ being the forest and when a forest fire is started it is almost impossible to stop the fire in comparison to the wildfire of lies spreading through the region. This leads to the lack of trust in the district of Salem and in the Proctorââ¬â¢s marriage .As we return to the early stages of Act Two we see the Proctorââ¬â¢s involved in a minor dispute as he tells Elizabeth of his moment alone with Abigail, this is where the mistrust in their marriage is exposed and laid bare Elizabeth in disbelief of what she was just confronted with, questions him and asks ââ¬Å"you were alone with herâ⬠, and he discards her and tells her, ââ¬Ëonly for a moment, she reads into this as a lie and suspects their liaison has been reunited and is upset he has not informed her of this ââ¬Ëmomentââ¬â¢.à Elizabeth still detects that John is concealing something from her and because of her suspicions continuously questions him as we saw at the beginning of Act Two, her frustrations at him is shown when she says, ââ¬ËJohn you are not open with meââ¬â¢ which explains her distrust in John this is because she feels he is disguising aà Fabricat ion from her.

A Profile Of Interdisciplinary Senior Design Project
A Profile of Interdisciplinary Senior Design Project Abstract: Interdisciplinary undergraduate engineering programs have increased in importance and significance over past few years. Interdisciplinary research areas are strongly motivated to become disciplines themselves. If they succeed, they can establish their own research funding programs and make their own tenure and promotion decisions. Interdisciplinary studies can also give skills that help future engineers to cope in a changing environment. To understand the strengths and weaknesses of these interdisciplinary courses and programs, it is important to examine how students perceptions develop through the duration of the course, specifically in regards to their approach to anâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The approach towards this project shows interdisciplinary learning between various engineering fields. First thing to start is designing of table which involves precise dimensions and this involves mechanical engineering to implement material modeling. Secondly, the design also involves kient sensor which needs to be embedded with the simulator and programmed through assembly language, requires electrical engineering in it. Finally all the functionality and image processing results are programmed using JAVA coding which are exclusively done by computer engineering. This shows the importance of Interdisciplinary studies. Various heat exchanger designs are proposed for cooling beer wort from boiling temperature to fermentation temperature. In beer making cooling the wort quickly is very important for three main reasons: it avoids oxidation, bacteria contamination, and chill haze formation. Fast cooling the wort provides a thermal shock to these heat-sensitive proteins causing them to permanently precipitate. Chillpipe heat exchanger is been designed and developed, that will cool 5 gallons of wort in less than 4 minutes, and that is easy to clean and set up. This involves using specialized software called ââ¬Å"SThexâ⬠, developed to demonstrate the chemical design rating calculations of Shell Tube Heat Exchangers. Also testing
